A pre world war 2 barracks had become unfit for purpose and we were commissioned to design a replacement barracks to accommodate the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers unit. The barracks has two main buildings, the main block which houses the hall, changing rooms, mess rooms and logistics and a large workshop for servicing the unit’s vehicles. This was the largest project undertaken by TAVRA Greater London and the building was opened by the Princess Royal in 2009.
