This site was formerly agricultural land at the edge of the village. Initial discussions with the Local Authority were undertaken on the basis that the site could be considered as a “Rural Exception Site”, whereby a proven need for local affordable housing could overrule any planning policy presumption against housing development on the site. A scheme has been submitted for planning permission for 14 new houses, however due to difficulties experienced in gaining funding for affordable housing the scheme is now for discounted price open market housing.
