The Priory is a Grade ll Listed Building in Somerset. Part of the building was originally built as a mill, and the river still runs through the property, but now it is hidden underground in a culvert built in the early 19th century. The original building has been extended over time and is connected to a former 18th century detached cottage, to form a substantial dwelling. A programme of work has been undertaken including repairs to roofs and walls, new kitchen and bathrooms and extensive internal and external decorations. Planning permission has recently been granted to build a 5 bedroom detached house in the grounds, and work is programmed to begin in the Spring of 2012.

David handed in his dissertation in September and has now graduated with a MSc in Architectural Engineering and Environmental Design from the University of Bath. The subjects covered on the course were all related to low energy and sustainable building design, which is an area that Prime Meridian feel is of fundamental importance for designing new buildings and improving our existing stock.

We have recently been appointed to undertake alterations within the large Territorial Army building in Holborn, Central London. Prime Meridian undertook a major refurbishment of this building in 2004 and we are delighted to be working again on this important building for the Territorial Army.

Prime Meridian have just been instructed for their 70th project for Shaftesbury Plc, on their Central London Carnaby Estate. Shaftesbury are a major London property investment company, whose wholly and joint owned estates extend to 1.8million square feet and which were valued in September 2011 at £1.67billion. This latest project is the conversion of the upper floors of a building in Soho from office space to 3 apartments.

David Minns has recently been to Lisbon to meet with UK Trade and Investment Officers based in the British Embassy. The visit followed a research project undertaken by the Embassy staff into potential work opportunities in Portugal in the low carbon and urban regeneration sectors. David will return to Lisbon in January 2012 to meet a number of Portuguese companies who have expressed an interest in meeting Prime Meridian. These companies range from Architectural practices, energy assessors, energy providers and municipal bodies.
